Atlanta Braves Johan Camargo’s emergence might start the trade carousel

Camargo needs to be the third baseman, period. Matt “Regressing to the Norm” Adams should get traded, and Freddie moved back across the diamond.
Camargo fits in nicely and is doing everything right, right now. But then, what do you do with Adonis Garcia?
As much as I love Brandon Phillips, and he’s done everything we asked of him, he’s fulfilled his purpose. It’s time for Ozzie Albies to get familiar with SunTrust Park.
Matt Kemp and Nick Markakis most likely get the next tickets out of town. Tying in to Acuna’s promotion to Gwinnett, he could very well spell the end of Markakis’ or Kemp’s time in a Braves uniform.
Yet, with the excitement Camargo has provided, how sustainable is he going to be in the long run? There’s also the fact that Sean Rodriguez along with Garcia, will be back around the same time (late July/early August); Rodriguez before Garcia.
Moving up Albies and slotting him at 2B might push Rodriguez to a bench role, with the title of Uber Utility Guy. Jace Peterson gets sent back down, Garcia gets DFA’d … traded, and then, what do you do with Micah Johnson?
The move to trade for Phillips was in lieu of the Rodriguez injury. So, the emergence of Camargo has kind of thrown a wrench into things. Not that this is a bad thing, it just, complicates things a bit.
Next: Austin Riley on the move; Promoted to Mississippi
Unfortunately, some fan favorites will be on the move. Either way, though, this trade season is going to be an exciting around the league. Playing both sides, as the Braves could do, is going to be really fun to watch.
