Jace Peterson – Second Base, Outfield

The name may surprise you here, but he could seriously be worthy of a pickup.  For one, he has both second base and outfield eligibility.  Having multiple positions is always a huge plus for me and should be for you as well.  Two, it looks like he’ll have a starting spot the rest of the season.

Braves beat writer, Mark Bowman, tweeted a few days ago that top prospect Ozzie Albies may not be called up in September.  If he’s not called up, Peterson looks to have the second base spot all locked up — especially with Gordon Beckham hitting the way he has been.

Peterson has been playing very well for the Braves lately.  In the seven games, he’s batting .333 with four hits, six walks and two stolen bases.  That’s a heck of a OBP and finding a few stolen bases this time of year, could win you a championship.

Also, the 26-year-old is hitting great at home.  He has a slash line of .287/.384/.788 at Turner Field compared to his away slash line of .226/.333/.371.  Good for him, the Braves play 18 more home games and 13 games away.

Braves manager Brian Snitker looks like he’s content with Peterson in the 7th hole.  Actually not a bad spot for him as it’s right in front of Swanson and Inciarte, Freeman and Kemp right behind him.
