Good Stuff

Bright spots today were limited to Inciarte extending his current hitting streak to seven games and 23 of his last 26 while Freeman has hit safely in his last four and 20 of his last 26,both bumping against the .400 mark for August.

Defensively Garcia continues to look like different player that before his exile to Gwinnett. Today he made a superb play to end an inning, adding it to a pretty long list he’s made on this road trip. His UZR and DRS numbers do not show the improvement but anyone watching him everyday can see it.

That’s A Wrap

There’s not much to say about the game after the six inning. While Matt Wisler came back having worked things out Blair didn’t look any different from when he left. After initial adrenalin gave his fastballs a little more giddyup in the first they were back to normal from that point on and as I noted earlier, everything was middle-middle or middle-up.

Next: No Ozzie...

Ian Krol was the only bullpen arm who did his job well today. Roe was bad, Cunniff worse and Weber was right there with them.

The Braves have an off day tomorrow – and boy do they need it – before moving on to San Diego to wrap up another west coast trip best forgotten.
