The Dodgers

The bridge to Kenley Jansen is shaky to say the least. The have problems in the rotation and outfield as well but we can’t help them much there – no I don’t think they want Kemp back,  The deal here is smaller than the one for the Bucs but could be interesting

The Dodgers would get Vizcaino, and Ian Krol and send outfielders Alex Verdugo, James Ramsey and RHP Jacob Rhame.

According to Pipeline, the 20-year-old Vedrugo is the Dodgers number four prospect and the number 58 prospect in baseball . Herewith some scouting data from pipeline.

Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 50 | Run: 50 | Arm: 65 | Field: 50 | Overall: 55

". . . advanced at the plate . . . showing precocious feel for understanding the strike zone and recognizing pitches. . . a quick bat from the left side . . .figures to hit for a high average, though he makes contact so easily that it cuts into his walk totals . .  (Some scouts see him with) the aptitude and strength for 20 homers per year and others wonder if he’ll (be able to do that). . .spent the majority of his first two pro seasons in center. . . has the arm strength necessary for right field if he has to move"

Rhame was a sixth round selection in 2013 and as his scouting scores show, profiles as a bullpen arm.

"Scouting grades: Fastball: 70 | Slider: 45 | Splitter: 40 | Control: 50 | Overall: 45"

". . . He now operates at 94-98 mph and reaches triple digits on a four-seamer that plays up even further because of its riding life and the deception in his delivery . . . mix(es) in a two-seamer in the low 90s when he wants more sink. . . still is searching for (a second pitch) . . can run his slider into the upper 80s, it’s a fringy pitch that lacks tilt. . .  If he can find a second pitch, he could be a high-leverage reliever"

The Cardinals took Ramsey in the first round of the 2012 draft as a low-cost senior sign. In 2013 began in Rookie Ball, moved to High A Palm Beach, then to Double-A Springfield and play his a final game of the season with Triple-A Memphis. He started 2014 in AA and had a .300/.389/.527/.916 line when he was traded to the Indians at the deadline for Justin Masterson.

"He hit well for the Indians in AA and moved to AAA in 2015 but his slash line wasn’t as strong there. The Indians had added him to their 40 man roster in 2015 by DFA’s him in the spring and on April 10 traded Ramsey to the Dodgers for Zach Walters. So far this season the 26-year-old  Alpharetta, Georgia native seems to have his bat back on track as he’s posted a .261/.337/.433/.770 with eight homers and 12 doubles in 274 PA."

A 2104 Fangraphs post  he was described as “a table settler who . . . (can play right) due to his strong arm.. . . (or) center . . .where he has played predominately (in 2013-14).”  Ramsey profiles as a forth outfielder with occasional power.

The list isn’t as illustrious as that from the Pirates but the Dodgers aren’t getting as much either.
