Livan Soto  Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 30 | Run: 50 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50

Soto Looks like another in the current line of diminutive middle infielders. At 5’9 and 140 pounds he’s petite by today’s standards. He turned 16 just over a week ago so he’ll undoubtedly put on weight as he matures.

Scouts like his hard contact and ability to hit the ball to all fields. Like all kids his age has trouble with the strike zone and needs to improve his footwork around second base but scouts believe he can remain at shortstop long-term.

Juan Contreras

Contreras is a long tall drink of water I’d say he’s 6’7” at least but that’s from watching a video as I can’t find any real stats other than he’s 180 pounds. Contreras is a RHP whose stride seems to extend to near the front edge of the mound which is pretty scary for hitters considering that at 16 he’s throwing heavy 95mph sinkers.

Yenci Pena Hit: 55 | Power: 50 | Run: 50 | Arm: 50 | Field: 55

Pena’s scouting reports are as a middle infielder with the skills to stay there but some believe he’ll move to third and that’s where MLB Pipeline list him skill set to stay at the position. He athletic and agile with good hands and a better than average glove. Their scouting report says “He has a balanced approach at the plate and has shown a fluid stroke that could generate more power . . .has a knack for understanding how pitchers are trying to attack him and makes adjustments quickly.
