Yunior Severino Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 50 | Run: 40 | Arm: 50 | Field: 50

According to MLB’s scouting report, Dominican Shortstop Yunior Severino is another switch hitting middle infielder with power from both sides. They call that “impressive because he’s far from the biggest — or strongest — prospect in this year’s class”

More from Tomahawk Take

He’s an aggressive hitter who generates good bat speed but “ sometimes struggles with off speed and breaking pitches.”

In the field he has a strong arm and is solid on defense but second base is where most “scouts see him” ending up.

Abrahan Gutierrez Scouting grades: Hit: 40 | Power: 40 | Run: 20 | Arm: 60 | Field: 70

In spite of having a lot of catching depth in the lower levels of the minors, fans have clamored for them to add a stud catcher. Gutierrez could be the guy they see filling that role.  He’s solid defensively behind the plate and has a strong accurate arm with what MLB’s scouting report calls “a loose arm and a quick release.”

That scouting report goes on to say Gutierrez is “a line-driver hitter with power to the alleys” with some pop and a hit tool good enough that he projects as an everyday catcher.
