In spite of two brilliant starts, Gwinnett split a double header on Tuesday. Gwinnett took game one 3-2 behind Tyrell Jenkins. Jenkins went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks, striking out 9. Jace Peterson was the only G-Brave hitter on base twice with a single and a walk. Blake Lalli and Ronnier Mustelier each had a double.

Norfolk took game two 2-1 after an extra inning. John Gant got the start, going 6 innings, allowing one unearned run on 7 hits, striking out 9. Ronnier Mustelier had a single and a walk. Rio Ruiz had two walks. Adonis Garcia had a double.

Wednesday

Gwinnett brought their record back to .500 with a 9-2 win over Norfolk. Lucas Sims got the win in spite of shaky control, going 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 6 walks, striking out 7. Emilio Bonifacio had a double and 2 singles. Brandon Snyder had a double and a home run. Ozzie Albies had a single and a double. Adonis Garcia and Jace Peterson each had two singles. After 5 scoreless, Mississippi scored 3 in the top of the 6th and then another in the top of the 8th to defeat Mobile 4-3. After the trade of Brandon Barker, Michael O’Neal made a spot start and went 4 scoreless innings, allowing a single hit and 2 walks, striking out one. Dustin Peterson had a double and two walks. Dian Toscano had a single, a walk, and a stolen base. Levi Hyams had a home run.

Wednesday

Mississippi’s bullpen again struggled on Wednesday, first giving up the lead in the top of the 8th inning to allow Jacksonville to push the game into extra innings, and then giving up 2 runs in the top of the 10th. The M-Braves did score a run and load the bases in the bottom of the 10th, but couldn’t push across one more run to keep the game moving forward and lost 4-3. Andrew Thurman had a very solid start, going 6 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and 3 walks, striking out 5. Jacob Schrader had two doubles and a walk. Mel Rojas, Jr. had a double and a single. Dustin Peterson had a single, a walk, and stole a base. Dansby Swanson had a single and a walk.

Carolina scored 2 in the bottom of the 7th, and the game went to the 14th inning before Myrtle Beach scored a run to win 3-2. Enderson Franco had a tremendous start, going 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, striking out 7. The Carolina bullpen combined for 7 innings with only the unearned run in the top of the 14th with 7 strikeouts. Keith Curcio had three singles. Joseph Odom had two singles and a walk. Joey Meneses and Tanner Murphy each had a single and a walk.

Wednesday

Myrtle Beach jumped all over Carolina fill-in starter Zach Quintana early and the Mudcat offense couldn’t catch up as the Pelicans took the win 6-2. Quintana went 2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. Braxton Davidson had a double, single, and a walk. Jordan Edgerton had two singles. Joseph Odom had a double and a walk. Keith Curcio and Stephen Gaylor each had a single and a walk.

Austin Riley had a single, a double, and a stolen base. Alejandro Salazar had a single and a double. Carlos Castro made his debut and hit two singles. Ray-Patrick Didder had a single and a walk and stole his 11th base. Bradley Keller stole a base.

Hickory scored 3 early on Rome, but they couldn’t do any more damage, yet the Rome offense was dry on the day, and Hickory took the game 3-1. Max Fried got the start, going 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks, striking out 4. Leudys Baez had two singles. Yeudi Grullon had a double and a walk. Lucas Herbert has a single and a walk.

Wednesday

Ricardo Sanchez pitched around a 2-run 2nd inning very well and Rome scored the win 3-2. Sanchez went 5 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks, striking out 2. Ray-Patrick Didder had two singles. Wigberto Nevarez, Justin Ellison, and Leudys Baez each walked twice, with Ellison adding a stolen base.
