Monday
After 5 scoreless, Mississippi scored 3 in the top of the 6th and then another in the top of the 8th to defeat Mobile 4-3. After the trade of Brandon Barker, Michael O’Neal made a spot start and went 4 scoreless innings, allowing a single hit and 2 walks, striking out one. Dustin Peterson had a double and two walks. Dian Toscano had a single, a walk, and a stolen base. Levi Hyams had a home run.
Tuesday
Mississippi was off Tuesday.
Wednesday
Mississippi’s bullpen again struggled on Wednesday, first giving up the lead in the top of the 8th inning to allow Jacksonville to push the game into extra innings, and then giving up 2 runs in the top of the 10th. The M-Braves did score a run and load the bases in the bottom of the 10th, but couldn’t push across one more run to keep the game moving forward and lost 4-3. Andrew Thurman had a very solid start, going 6 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and 3 walks, striking out 5. Jacob Schrader had two doubles and a walk. Mel Rojas, Jr. had a double and a single. Dustin Peterson had a single, a walk, and stole a base. Dansby Swanson had a single and a walk.
