Hitter of the week – Returning from Atlanta to Gwinnett has sat well with Adonis Garcia. He hit home runs four games in a row as he put a week’s line of .360/.429/.840 with those 4 HR, 6 runs, 9 RBI, a stolen base, and a 3/5 BB/K. Honorable mention: While Matt Tuiasosopo has gone .429/.500/.857 in his 3 days back in Gwinnett, I’ll go with Dustin Peterson and his monster week, finishing a single short of the cycle in one game and putting up a .680 slugging percentage as he hit 2 doubles, a triple, and 2 home runs as he drove in 5 runs and scored 5 runs with a 3/5 BB/K ratio.

Pitcher of the week – He’s struggled with being jerked around in his role to start the season, but a couple weeks after being settled back into the rotation, Andrew Thurman had the type of week that you’d expect from him if you saw him before the bus crash in Carolina last season. His total between his two starts was 11 2/3 innings, 8 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks, and 14 strikeouts. Honorable mention: While Max Povse put up a 15/1 K/BB over his two starts, he allowed a number of runs as well, and I wanted to use this space to highlight the tremendous work of Trevor Belicek this week in relief for Rome. He threw 7 1/3 innings, allowing only 2 hits, no runs, no walks, and striking out 7.
