This division was the single most contentious of all, according to our writers.  Every team except the Twins could win it, by our reckoning, though the Royals got 5 nods as the favored team.

Personally, I think Detroit, which came on late last season, should be highly improved thanks to three “J”s:  Justin Upton, Jordan Zimmermann, and a rebounding Justin Verlander.

Is there any other more polarizing team than Cleveland?  2 writers picked them to win the AL Central; two others picked them to bottom out.  They have pitching… but will they keep it?  They also have maybe enough offense… but it’s a club not much changed over the 81-80 club of 2015.
