Atlanta Braves: A50 – Memorable Moments Bracket
If you’ve been following our Atlanta Braves A50 posts, reflecting on the last 50 years of Braves baseball, then I have an added treat for you.
Yesterday, July 20, 2015, the Braves launched a bracket challenge, if you will. A bracket that is open for voting to the fans. You can vote on your choice of the top moments in Atlanta Braves history.
Monday’s match-up pitted Hammerin’ Hank Aaron‘s 715th HR against Rick Camp‘s HR. At last check at about 7:50 AM, those two were still available for voting.
Spoiler: Hank Aaron leads Rick Camp, 91% to 9%. I think we know who wins this round of voting. (update: Hank wins – new challenge on Wednesday)
Over the course of the second half of the season, different match-ups will occur. You can have a say in what the top moment of Atlanta Braves history could be.
Is it the 1995 World Series Champions? Maybe it’s the 1982 Braves, who rattled off 13 straight wins to begin the season? What about the individual moments. David Justice‘s solo shot to give the Braves a 1-0 lead (and eventual win) in the 6th inning of Game 6 of the ’95 World Series? Is it Dale Murphy‘s back-to-back MVP season’s in 1982 and 1983? You get to decide.
“There have been so many memorable moments over the 50 seasons that the Braves have called Atlanta home. Now is your chance to choose the most memorable! Throughout the second half of the season, fans can vote in head-to-head matchups in a bracket style game to determine the most memorable moment since the Braves have been in Atlanta”. – braves.com
You have the ability to help make Braves history, by helping to choose the best moment in Atlanta’s history, since 1966.
And even if you don’t want to vote … just going there to watch the old highlights would be more than worth it for some, I’m sure.
Voting will continue through September 30, 2015, ending at 11:59 PM. So go on over to braves.com, or click here, and choose your most memorable Braves moment of the last 50 years.
