Ralph Garr

Garr’s 1974 season with the Braves earned him his only All-Star appearance. It also saw him finish number 12 in the MVP voting. Garr was durable, productive, consistent, and that man could fly!

In 1974, Ralph Garr led the NL in triples with 17. Let me say that again … 17! He also led the league in hits with 214 and BA, hitting at a .353 clip. He tallied 137 SBs as a Brave to go with 157 BBs. His OPS+ was 113 in those 8 years, with 1974 being his highest OPS+ at 143.

Listed as an outfielder, Garr’s 8 years in Atlanta were the best of his career. A lifetime .306 hitter, with the Braves, he hit .317/.350/.429/.779. He amassed a 12.6 WAR, 13.3 oWAR, and -5.2 dWAR. Not always a left fielder, Garr roamed all three outfield positions for the better part of 8 years.

Garr is third all-time with 509 games played in LF.
