Going Forward

Can Fredi Gonzalez and his coaching staff get these Braves back on track? One can only hope. April has just ended, a lot can change, a lot can happen. This group of guys are just now starting to mesh. The season to me can only get better.

I have never once considered giving up on this team. After all, it is just a game. But to some of us, it seems more than that. There are a lot of new faces trying to learn each other. Playing the game is the easy part, its learning how to play it with the guys around you that can slow things up. A solid, reliable pitching staff will only help with that.

If the offense can keep its hitting ways up, then there’s no telling what this team is capable of. May needs to be treated as a clean slate. Sitting at 2 games under .500, hopes are that creating a positive turn around for the Braves are close. May, needs to be month that sees positive progress. Take it one game at a time. Win every inning. Go back to what was working in the first days of the season.

Fundamentals, execution, solid defense, and reliable pitching. It all has to work, it all has to work together, and at the same time. The Braves have the opportunity to do something special this year. As long as they are all on the same page, working towards the same common goal, and working as one unit, I don’t see any reason why it can’t happen. There is plenty of baseball to be played.
