Let Him Have It!  The Boo Lustily Arguments

  • There’s 20 million reasons!  His contract buyout.  Had he been performing up to par… or even within sight of par… then he might at least have been tradable.  But as it is, he pretty well helped cripple the payroll for multiple seasons.
  • I’m skeptical of this motor skill dysfunction diagnosis… and was even more skeptical when there was a virtually “instant” cure declared after about a week.  In 40 plate appearances this season for the Nationals, he is hitting .135 with 11 K’s.  I don’t think anything is “fixed”… makes me wonder if anything was really broken.
  • Even if this was/is the correct diagnosis, why did it take so long to start asking questions like that?
  • He plays for the enemy now… it might be one thing if it were the Giants or Rockies.  But it’s the Nats.  We hate the Nats.  At least he’s hitting .135 for them.
  • His hitting kept dragging down the Braves’ offense from 2011 through 2014.  His numbers were on a steep and steady decline – even before the injuries that supposedly triggered this.
  • He was booed before he was released; he’s being booed again now.
  • It’s my right – I wasn’t happy with him while he was here, this is how I choose to express that right.
