1965 Milwaukee Braves

Record: 86-76 (5th in the NL)
Top Player: Hank Aaron (7.8 WAR)
Manager: Bobby Bragan

The team’s last season in Milwaukee had plenty of change. Eddie Mathews had his last good season in 1965, hitting 32 home runs with 95 RBI. Injuries would take their toll on the slugger, ending his productive years at age 33. Hank Aaron was in his peak form at age 31, leading the league in doubles, and he will end up leading the league in home runs the next year in his first season in Atlanta. Aaron finished the ’65 season with 398 career home runs, and his move to Atlanta would turn him toward 755. The 1965 team had a deep lineup with big time bats, but their pitching was young, their staff led by 24 year-old Tony Cloninger and 21 year-old Wade Blasingame

All-Stars: 2 (Joe Torre, Hank Aaron)
Postseason honors: Joe Torre Gold Glove at Catcher
