SEATTLE:  Sends Nick Franklin to Tampa Bay

DETROIT:  Sends Drew Smyly and low-A SS Willy Adames to Tampa Bay and Austin Jackson to Seattle.

TAMPA BAY:  Sends David Price to Detroit.

Note:  that’s not enough for Seattle, so this isn’t final.

WHO WINS: Hard to say at this point.  Based on the above, I call it for Seattle, though if Adames develops as touted, Tampa could win here.  Saw a report calling him the #1 Tigers’ prospect (at age 18).

IMPACT ON THE RACE: Gives Detroit a real shot vs. Oakland in the playoffs, though I’m a little uncertain on the amount of ‘upgrade’ from Smyly to Price.

IMPACT ON OTHER TRADES: Not at this point (9 minutes before the trade deadline).

IMPACT TO THE BRAVES:  Frank?  Is this thing on?  Hello?  Gotta wonder what Frank might have offered… if anything.
