It’s just Adam

Currently, the only outfielder qualified is Duvall. He’s ranked as a center fielder because he has 382 innings there and under 200 in left.

With Harris ensconced as the Atlanta Braves center fielder, Duvall may eventually be considered a left fielder. Even then, I doubt he improves his SDI enough to overtake Connor Joe,

SDI doesn’t guarantee a Gold Glove

SDI numbers amount to 30 votes for Gold Glove. The manager and up to six coaches from each club are allowed to vote, but they may not vote for players on their roster.

Depending on how many managers and coaches vote, SDI votes will account for 25% of the final vote.

Voting takes place after game 141, that’s September 12 for the Braves, so there’s time for Harris to make a charge in center and take home a gold Glove … and Rookie of the Year.

That’s a Wrap

The Gold Glove depends on innings played after game 141. That’s why outfielders that are distinctly ordinary sometimes take home an award.

Peterson leading Arenado and Machado at third is hilarious. I love Jace, but Arenado is exceptional, and Machado is close behind. The manager/coach vote should sort that out.

Atlanta Braves fans may have to settle for a Rookie of the Year and a Cy Young winner this year. I can live with that.
