Oakland Athletics

Again, I am not sure many know the true feeling of what the Athletics will do this Winter. Heck, in a standard off season, no one really knows what they are going to do. They could try to stay pat and add a little or they might be willing to discuss some of their bigger names with other teams including the Atlanta Braves.

  1. Matt Chapman– Cheap and good. Those both describe Matt Chapman who would fit in very nice at the hot corner and in the middle of the Atlanta Braves lineup. It might take Riley as a piece to go back to Oakland, but Chapman would be a huge get and pivotal piece for any Atlanta Braves lineup.
  2. Mark Canha– A quality outfielder who could also be a backup to Freeman at first base as well. Canha has quietly produced solid numbers out in the Bay area and would be a “rover” type for the Atlanta Braves in all likelihood. Certainly worse options are out there.
  3. Sean Manaea– Manaea has been good for the Athletics but maybe not as good as they once hoped. He could make for a useful middle of the rotation to bottom of the rotation arm for the Atlanta Braves and at least give them innings.
