Tampa Bay Rays

As stated above, the Tampa Bay Rays are always an interesting team to watch as budget constraints limit what they can do, and again, that might even be more the case during this offseason. Give it up for the Rays though, as they always find a way to be not only competitive but really good. They come within two wins of winning the World Series, so it will be fascinating to watch them over the next few months.

  1. Nick Anderson– The Rays always have a plethora of good hard throwing pitchers, and Anderson is no exception. The Rays beautifully plucked him away from the Marlins not long ago, and he has went on to be one of the better relief options in the game. As we have stated before, a team like the Atlanta Braves cant have too much relief pitching.
  2. Austin Meadows– Meadows was and is kind of the forgotten piece of the Archer deal that the Rays won the second it was finalized a few seasons back. 2020 was not a typical year for Meadows but he could be a decent side piece to Duvall if the Rays decide to sort of sell low on him.
  3. Blake Snell– This is where things could get interesting. Snell would be highly valued if he was put on the market, but Tampa might be ready to go ahead and get off his contract despite it being HEAVILY team friendly. The 2018 AL Cy Young would go right to the top of Atlanta’s rotation and perhaps give them the best 1-2-3 in the game? The cost would be hefty, but it might be worth it from the Atlanta Braves perspective.
