At least one thing is for certain, Marcell Ozuna can not kill the Atlanta Braves come October in the playoffs this year.

Hopefully it’s the complete other way around and he helps lead the Braves to their first championship since 1995.

During the 2019 NLDS series that pitted the Atlanta Braves against the St. Louis Cardinals, Ozuna hit .429 and had an OPS of 1.335 and added two long balls to go with it.

While I did not want to bring up the bad subject of that series, the point was to prove that Marcell Ozuna has been a force with the bat over the last handful of years.

Really the only knock one could make against him is the fact he hit only .241 last year, but the good news is he still had power and drove in runs at a normal pace.

Quietly, perhaps because he played in Miami for the most part, Ozuna has been one of the better hitters throughout the National League. Here’s where the problem he might face in Atlanta pops up though.

Fair or not, unfortunately, he is going to be compared to Josh Donaldson because he is the guy that will be basically taking over the spot Donaldson had last season.

But agian, I would not sleep on this two-time All-Star and I have complete faith he can get the job done.
