Which Atlanta Braves players does the delay help and hurt?

No one knows if the major league offices will revise rules in order to keep up with these crazy times. The Atlanta Braves might want to keep an eye on how this will all affect service time and how the younger players’ future contract obligations will be affected by this mess.

Crisitian Pache is most likely the center fielder of the future, but when will the future be here. Will it be here to start off the 2020 season?

Pache did nothing to hurt himself in spring training this year and he showed why he was very deserving of being ranked as the 12th best prospect in the game currently by Baseball America to start off the year.

Let’s not kid ourselves and act like service time does not reign supreme in the thinking of front offices around the game.

On the other hand though, in what will no doubt be a shorter season, can a team take chances like normal and wait weeks to play the better player? I would think not as every game will matter a little more than normal in the upcoming season as teams won’t have as many games to rely upon catching up in the standings.

The goal of baseball is to win, and I believe for a team like the Atlanta Braves in 2020, that having Cristian Pache roaming center makes the team better. Especially if the rules will still allow them to control his contract a bit longer.
