What about Camargo

And then you have to wonder what happens to Camargo. Again, it’s not like he’s had a terrible spring training. He’s also hitting the ball well and deserving of a roster spot.
But Snitker has said publically he doesn’t think there are enough at-bats to warrant keeping both of them on the roster.
I personally think that’s hogwash — at least in the case for Camargo. I’m not really sure what benefit Camargo could get by going back down to the minors.
Going back to the article I referenced earlier, Chipper also said, “Camargo has got to play on this team somewhere.”
And I’m certainly on board with that thinking. With the versatility that he has, I find it hard to believe we can’t find a way to get Camargo three or four starts a week and 300-400 at-bats over the season.
Now maybe Snitker is right and Camargo just can’t handle the bench role. But that’s on Camargo to figure out.
As I’ve said previously, I think that’s where he has the most value in the future — as a super-utility player. For his sake, and the sake of the Braves, I really hope he figures it out.
That’s why I’m also really hoping the Braves are able to bring in Martin Prado as an assistant. He could have a huge influence on Camargo in that regard.
We still have two weeks of games to figure all this out, but at this point how would you handle the third base situation? Let us know in the comments below.
