Adam Duvall and Ender Inciarte

I’m grouping Adam Duvall and Ender Inciarte together for a couple of reasons. One reason being that these two have been mentioned as players who could be traded for nearly two years now.

I, for one, never thought Duvall would put on a Braves uniform again after how his 2018 season ended in Atlanta, but then he went out and gave the team one of the biggest moments of the year in the 2019 playoffs.

And I’ve said here several times, I love Inciarte and think the Braves are a better team with him in the lineup, but I can understand the reasons for wanting to trade him.

The Braves have a lot of depth in the outfield with Acuna, Ozuna, Nick Markakis, Austin Riley, and even Johan Camargo.

That alone makes both Duvall and Inciarte expendable, and it could be a way for the Braves to save some money as the two will make a combined $11 million in 2020.

But even more than that, there are a couple of top outfield prospects who could be pushing their way into the Major League lineup sometime this year.

Of course I’m talking about Cristian Pache and Drew Waters.

Pache is already on the 40-man roster and if he has a good start to the season in Triple-A and Ender struggles at the plate, it might not be too long before Pache gets called up.

The same could be true for Waters if hits the ground running in Gwinnett, but it would take a little more for him to get the call.

Point being, there is a reason why Duvall and Inciarte are two of the first names mentioned in trade rumors. There is a good chance we see at least one of them moved sometime this season.
