Should the Atlanta Braves call the Pittsburgh Pirates?

Richard Rodriguez, RP

A very solid middle inning piece Richard Rodriguez is. He would fit in nicely into the middle of the Braves bullpen, but on the other hand, I could only see this being a fit if a few other Braves arms falter or get injured during the season.

Jameson Taillon, SP

Jameson Taillon might be the other piece that the Pirates would elect to hold onto if they decide to sell heavily. However, he would get a pretty nice return if dangled on the market as he is a good middle of the rotation arm for any team in the game. Injuries have hampered his career numbers thus far.

Kevin Newman, INF

If you will remember, last season Kevin Newman was a pest for the Atlanta Braves to get out every time we played the Pirates. I know people will attack me for this, but being honest, Newman is a better option for the Braves than Charlie Culberson or Johan Camargo for my money. He is cheap and under control for a long time. He could be a nice versatility piece for the Braves to have.

Gregory Polanco, OF

Gregory Polanco has never lived up to his full potential he was thought to have when he debuted a few years ago. He has had multiple injuries and it’s been a struggle to stay on the field for him. However, maybe the Braves still think their is something in his bat and maybe at worst he could be a better 4th outfielder for the Atlanta Braves?

So there you have it, a few players that might possibly interest the Atlanta Braves if the Pittsburgh Pirates go into full rebuild mode.
