Miguel  Andujar

Miguel Andujar is a very interesting name to me, but I understand the hesitation from a lot of Braves fans.

Andujar had a disastrous 2019 season in which he was only able to play 12 games and hit just .128 with no home runs over 47 at-bats.

But in 2018 he lit the baseball world on fire by hitting .297 with 27 home runs, 92 RBI, and a .855 OPS.

He has fallen down the depth chart with the Yankees and lost his spot at third base to Gio Urshela.

Brian Cashman said in a radio interview that they’re receiving a lot of calls on Andujar.

That doesn’t mean they’re shopping him, but at the very least they’re listening.

The New York Yankees do have a need in center field, and the Braves just happen to have a center fielder who is expendable in Ender Inciarte.

Maybe a trade like Inciarte and Bryse Wilson to the Yankees for Andujar might work.

Or perhaps you try to knock out two birds with one stone and get Clint Frazier from the Yankees as well.

You could use the same deal above but add Frazier from the Yankees and William Contreras from the Braves.

I have little doubt that Andujar can hit, his biggest issue is defense. But it’s something Andujar knows is an issue and something he’s apparently been working on.

And I have all the faith in the world that Ron Washington can turn him into a solid defender at third base.
