Josh Donaldson

To no surprise at all, Josh Donaldson got the most responses to our question with 37 people saying to re-sign the third baseman.

It’s pretty obvious that Braves fans fell in love with Donaldson over the 2019 season, and I think he loved playing in Atlanta.

There is little doubt that AA will try really hard to bring him back, but with the year JD had he may price himself out of our budget.

He played in 155 games this past season hitting .259 with 37 home runs and 94 RBI.

Not only was he great at the plate, but he was spectacular on defense and was a finalist for the Gold Glove at third base.

Donaldson bet on himself last offseason by taking a one-year deal with the Braves. He’ll undoubtedly want more than that this offseason.

My guess is that Donaldson is going to want a 3-year deal for around $25 million a year.

The most I think the Braves would give him is a two-year deal for a little less than $50 million.

So it will all depend on how interested other teams are in signing Donaldson.

Looking at the teams out there who need a third baseman, the Braves are by far the best fit for Donaldson.

In the end, I think they give him a two-year deal for $46 million with a third-year team option.

Regardless, the Braves have to find a big bat like Donaldson this offseason to put behind Freddie Freeman.

Rendon got 11 responses from the fans, but I just can’t see the Braves giving out that long of a contract for as much as Rendon will likely get.
