The Youngsters

The Braves have 9 players who are arbitration eligible this Winter. I’m going to list them each here and discuss a few at the end who might not be offered a contract with the Braves more in depth.

The numbers beside each player will be what MLBtraderumors.com has them projected to make. Keep in mind, they are usually either dead on or extremely close to being right.

The Braves will certainly pay Foltynewicz, Culberson, Swanson, Luke Jackson (sorry to those who will hate this), and Johan Camargo somewhere close to those numbers to keep them in uniform in 2020.

I would have said the same about Shane Greene, but recently Mark Bowman threw a little cold water on that.

I would still say the Braves will elect to bring back Shane Greene even though, we would all agree he most likely wont be able to repeat his numbers he put up in Detroit the first half of the season so far.

Then we arrive back at Adam Duvall, who many were surprised the Braves tendered him a contract last year. I will go ahead and forewarn everyone this year, as I believe they will indeed do the same this year and if nothing else, he will provide insurance at the AAA level again.

That brings us to catcher John Ryan Murphy and reliever Grant Dayton. Despite both players being able to be retained for little monetary expenses, I believe the Braves will non-tender both and feel better by creating a couple more 40 man spots on the roster.

So again, as you can see the Braves have a ton of questions they will have to answer here in the next few weeks. Some are cut and dry while others aren’t. It will no doubt be a fun process to follow.

Next. Surprise, surprise. dark

Who would you like of all these players to bring back? Let us know in the comment section below.
