They’re all crucial games now

This game is enormous in deciding the series and the Atlanta Braves sending out their ace is essential. Because of that I’ m going to pick the Braves to win this one.

The Braves have seemingly been the better team in this series leading in 16 of 18 innings. If Soroka can pitch deep into this game and keep the bullpen usage to a minimum I think he’ll simply out-duel Wainwright.

The Braves offense has continued to be effective averaging 4.5 runs in the first two games of the series against the Cardinals’ best pitchers.

Not just the starters either: those two home runs in the ninth inning of Game 1 came off closer Carlos Martinez.

Not only do I not fear the Cardinals’ pitchers (other than Flaherty) there’s not too much in the Cardinals lineup that worries me. The Cardinals have garnished a lot of hits off weak contact and one would expect their perfect placement not to continue.

Paul Goldschmidt is another story. He is someone that is truly an offensive monster and despite a down year by his standards, limiting his production is a must.

The Atlanta Braves should be able to simply outscore the Cardinals in this one. I think Soroka will keep his poise in his first playoff game and pitch a gem to put the Braves up 2-1.
