More from Tomahawk Take

There is a chance I get killed in this in the comments, but I’m very worried about Freddie Freeman going into the postseason.

I really feel like this elbow issue is bigger than he’s letting on, and that’s simply based on the fact that his numbers have not been great in September — specifically his power numbers.

He hit .264 in September, which is his lowest monthly total of the year. But even more concerning is the fact that by the time game one rolls around it will have been over a month since Freddie hit a home run.

Don’t get me wrong, I want Freddie hitting third in my lineup all day. And I am completely confident that he’ll be able to get his hits and have an impact on this series.

But we need our MVP playing at an MVP level if the Atlanta Braves are going to have any chance of making noise in the postseason.

For whatever reason, I’m a little less worried about Acuña even though he didn’t play at all over the weekend.

My biggest worry with Acuña’s injury is what I mentioned above, and that’s how it affects our outfield defense.

But it’s certainly a huge concern that our two best players are banged up going into the postseason.

The Atlanta Braves need both of them playing at a high level in October in order to reach our goals.
