10. Cleveland Indians

The Indians need to dig down deep and find a little to pass the Rays or Athletics for a berth in the AL Wild Card game. They are currently 1.5 out. Realistically, they could also still catch the Twins, but 5 games in less than two weeks is a lot to ask for.

9. Milwaukee Brewers

Even after the injury to Christian Yelich, the Brewers have stayed hot and have gotten right back into strong playoff contention. The better news is they finish out the season with sub .500 teams. San Diego, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Colorado. This may the sleeper of the group here.

8. St. Louis Cardinals

After the Cardinals (hopefully) finish beating the Nationals, they finish the season with 7 HUGE games with the Cubs. Those 7 games could obviously very well dictate who will win the NL Central and who the Atlanta Braves will probably play in October.

7. Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays currently are clinging onto the last AL playoff spot. Crazy to think that they could falter these last two weeks and end up with 92 or so wins…and still be on the outside looking in.

6. Oakland Athletics

Assuming the Athletics make it into a playoff spot, I think a very interesting subplot will be how they use Jesus Luzardo. He might be a weapon they use for multiple innings in multiple games.

5. Minnesota Twins

MLB unknowingly gave the gift of the AL Central to the Twins when they ended their schedule with the White Sox, Royals, and Tigers. It would rank as one of the bigger meltdowns if they were to lose the AL Central at this point.

4. Los Angeles Dodgers

Many outlets still have the Dodgers as the #1 team in all of baseball, and they certainly might be still? However, I haven’t seen the same team in the second half of the year and I see a more beatable LA team than in years past. Hopefully the Atlanta Braves can prove me right.

3. Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves stay at #3 here this week and became the second team to officially clinch a playoff spot this weekend. Quickly, we must once again send our well wishes to Charlie Culberson and hopefully we can get him a ring this season still.

2. New York Yankees

Just because the Yankees have wrapped up the AL East, doesn’t mean that it’s all over. They are currently tied with Houston for best record in the AL (and the game). Whoever can get home field advantage will surely have an advantage in that series.

1. Houston Astros

The Astros once again remain at the top here, and are still our current favorites. As we mentioned a moment ago, the Astros and Yankees are in a race for home field. The Astros have to be considered the favorite considering they match up with the Trout-less Angels 7 times still.

Next. Clinch the East already. dark

So that is our MLB power rankings once again. Let us know in the comments below who is ranked too high and who is too low. We will have 1 more set of rankings next week.
