The last time Max Fried faced the Dodgers he was on fire with a 2.11 ERA, and then we all know what happened.
He gave up 4 runs in one-plus inning of work and had to be removed from the game in the second after getting hit by a comebacker.
Whether that had anything to do with it or not, Fried started to decline after that game.
But he’s really been good lately and one of my favorite pitchers to watch. He’s given up just 2 earned runs in three August starts.
I’m really looking forward to Fried putting that last outing against the Dodgers behind him and hopefully have a great game.
It looks like Dodgers rookie Dustin May could start on Sunday. He has given up 5 earned runs in his first three Major League starts and has gone 5.2 innings in all three of those starts.
Hopefully, this Atlanta Braves lineup can rattle the cage of the 21-year-old righty.
Prediction:
Again, with the Atlanta Braves avoiding Walker Buehler and Clayton Kershaw, this is the perfect opportunity for them to win a series over the Dodgers and gain some confidence.
We should have the advantage pitching-wise on Friday and Sunday.
I think the Atlanta Braves will be motivated to show they can compete with the Dodgers in this series, and I think they take two-of-three.
