2. Freddie Freeman is a top 5 player in the entire game

Often I sit back and think that Freddie Freeman is so undervalued by the mainstream media, and that’s because he is. I also think that all Braves fans (myself included) take him for granted and we shouldn’t. I would put Freddie Freeman in my top 5 players in the entire game.

I would list him with the likes of Mike Trout, Nolan Arenado, Mookie Betts, and Christian Yelich. He deserves to be in that same category.

He does everything above average and he is the heartbeat of this team. Think about this, the other week when he made a big error in the Royals series, think about how shocked we all were. That hardly ever happens.

He has above-average power and can put the ball in play to all parts of the yard. Monday night, he drew a walk in the first inning where he saw 10 pitches. Those kinds of things take a toll on the opposing pitcher and can lead to getting into the other team’s bullpen in the 5th and 6th innings.

He also added an opposite-field home run and an opposite-field single. All in all, it was just another ho-hum night at the ballpark for our first baseman.

I think it’s fair to say that he will this generation that is coming up Chipper Jones.
