20. San Francisco Giants

Once again, I think the worst thing for the Giants was the winning streak they had. It forced them to basically hold on to Madison Bumgarner and Will Smith. They still traded a few of the pen pieces however.

19. Los Angeles Angels

I don’t know what it is, but Angels pitchers seem to never stay healthy. This time the injury bug has claimed Felix Pena. Andrelton Simmons is also back on the shelf.

18. Cincinnati Reds

The Reds gave us all a very interesting hour of TV last Tuesday evening. They pulled off a huge trade acquiring Trevor Bauer, and then had a huge brawl with the Pirates as we all saw. Oh, they also came to Atlanta and split a 4 game series.

17. Arizona Diamondbacks

As we thanked the White Sox, we should thank the Dbacks as well, as they pulled out a series win against the Nationals this weekend. They still cling to second in the NL West at an exact .500 record.

16. Milwaukee Brewers

Luckily even with a barely over .500 record and after getting swept by the Cubs, the Brewers are only 4 back of the division lead. They do have issues with the rotation and need it fixed to have a shot though.

15. New York Mets

Say what you will about the Mets, but they have maybe the best rotation in the NL (only the Dodgers could disagree) and they simply put players on the market in hopes of someone offering up a ransom. They are now the hottest team in the game and are back in the races.

14. Boston Red Sox

A ton of talent on this team but they need to figure it out quickly to keep any hope of defending the crown this year. They have lost 8 in a row and even worse, all 8 were against the Rays and Yankees.

13. Texas Rangers

The Rangers decided to not move Mike Minor, which I thought was a mistake. For some reason, it seemed like the Starting Pitching market never materialized though.

12. Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies are within striking distance, but besides Aaron Nola, no one on that pitching staff at the moment is really striking fear into another team.

11. Washington Nationals

The Nationals finally cooled off some as they went 2-4 this week including the series defeat against Atlanta. Perhaps, the Braves held off their big run?
