Jerry Blevins

Jerry Blevins being the veteran he is, and the fact that he cannot be sent to the minors, will most likely keep his spot in the bullpen. Besides, every team needs a LOOGY in their bullpen. Blevins should serve the Braves in that role.

Josh Tomlin

Josh Tomlin hasn’t been bad for the Atlanta Braves and will probably keep his job … for the moment.

A couple of names we will go over in the next slide might make him nervous, but for the moment, Tomlin should remain in the team’s pen.

Anthony Swarzak

Anthony Swarzak was phenomenal for the first few weeks of his Braves tenure. However, after finding himself having to go on the Injured List, he hasn’t been the same since returning.

Over the last two weeks Swarzak’s ERA is through the roof currently sitting at 14.73. Much of that is the fact he has become home run prone big time. He has allowed 3 of them in his last 3.2 innings pitched.

I think Swarzak, along with Tomlin, are in the same exact boat. They will be used over the next few days/weeks in low leverage situations and eat up outs, and are both remaining on the team due to neither having options and the fact that other players do still have options remaining.

I also think they will both be in trouble when the next two players we discuss are healthy enough to come back to Atlanta.
