6. Zack Wheeler

This one gets a little more credibility to the fact that the Atlanta Braves, along with many other teams, have already been linked to Zack Wheeler.

In fact, reports say we tried aggressively last year to acquire Wheeler.

Wheeler is a local product that was taken one pick before the Braves drafted Mike Minor. The Braves had interest then, so even though its a totally new regime at the helm, it seems as if the Braves have always had an eye on him.

Zack really made a name for himself the last part of last season as he was one of the better pitchers across the entire game in the second half finishing up at 12-7 with a 3.31 ERA.

His 2019 season hasn’t been near as good, but he’s still producing quality results and his numbers might be closer to those 2018 numbers if he weren’t on the Mets; although, his HR% is way up this year.

Here’s why he is not higher on my list though, as many of you already probably know, he is a rental.

Two sides to that are that he shouldn’t cost as much prospect wise, but you only get him for around a dozen or so starts.

I wouldn’t mind getting Wheeler and his high K%, but I would like to aim a bit higher.
