2. Julio is bending, but not breaking

Remember when we all said Julio Teheran couldn’t survive at Suntrust Park? Well, the winning pitcher from Thursday’s game is not only surviving but thriving at his home park this year.

He doesn’t flash the gaudy strikeout numbers and he walks a few people but Julio has been the second best pitcher on the team this year.

I think many people are retracting we need to trade him ASAP comments that were all made last winter. (I may or may not have said it myself)

Entering Thursday’s contest, Julio’s home ERA this season was 1.93. It dropped after he only allowed 1 ER over 6 innings Thursday.

The exciting part was he seemed to get better as the game went on in the heat Thursday.

Better yet, we all know Julio’s past problem with giving up the long ball. Well, he has also toned that down as of late as well.

The last home run he allowed was his April 30th start against the San Diego Padres.

So yes, his starts may sometimes not be pretty, but right now he is getting the job done and the real question is where would the Atlanta Braves be in 2019 without the pitching of Julio Teheran?
