11. Boston Red Sox

Get well soon David Ortiz. That is all there is to say here.

12. Arizona Diamondbacks

For what it’s worth, Torey Lovullo is my pick so far for Manager of the Year. I thought Arizona was going to be one of the worst NL teams this year, and he has them at over .500 so far. Atlanta Braves fans are also rooting for them this week as they play the Phillies.

13. Texas Rangers

Everything that we just said about the Diamondbacks could probably be copied and pasted right here for the Texas Rangers. They are surprisingly 4 games over .500 to this point.

14. Cleveland Indians

I was just about to write Cleveland off and then they win 2 out of 3 against the Yankees and the Twins. Cleveland is still hanging on by a thread and will need a huge summer rebound.

15. San Diego Padres

Quietly, Eric Hosmer is having a nice season. Nothing spectacular, but he is producing none the less. They have fallen to 4th in the division though and need a little run to get back into wild card contention.

16. St. Louis Cardinals

From where they were a month ago and actually #1 in these rankings, the Cardinals have fallen off a cliff and are in danger of possibly becoming sellers in July.

17. Oakland Athletics

What is it about the Oakland A’s and a .247 batting average? Khris Davis has batted that average for like 14 straight seasons and guess what the team average is so far this year? .247!

18. New York Mets

The Mets are quietly still in the hunt in the NL East. They are only 5 out and the team’s pitching has been rebounding lately — namely Noah Syndergaard.

19. Washington Nationals

Just like the Mets, the Nationals are still in this race as well. Atlanta Braves and Phillies fans alike should still be paying attention to them and need to take care of their games against them as well.

20. Chicago White Sox

Could Lucas Giolito be in the AL Cy Young race? The short answer is yes, he should be. He is pitching lights out at the moment.
