Cody Milligan 2B 5-10 185 pounds (Not Ranked)
While MLB announced Milligan as a second baseman, the player card flashed on the screen listed him as a catcher. His bio page at Cowley Community College says he’s played some center field as well.
Milligan played the 2018 season at Oklahoma State, but appeared in only 15 games and totaled only eight AB. He transferred to Cowley for the 2019 season and saw more action.
His bat helped anchor the Crowley attack; Milligan appeared in 45 games and hit .426/.542/.671/.1.213 line in 155 AB as a catcher.
Cowley had a successful postseason this year culminating in a trip to the JuCo World Series, and Milligan led the way. He hit .500 in the JUCO World Series and drove in nine runs, earning him a spot on the JuCo All Tournament team
On the season he hit .453 with 65 RBI including nine triples, and he stole 30 bases without being caught.
Brown sees Milligan as a super-utility player.
". . . guys like this are going to become more valuable,” . . . The fact he’s a left-handed hitter with foot speed is very valuable.”"
It’s clear Milligan can hit and enjoys the big moment. If he can continue that against better competition, he’ll be a star – and valuable.
