Game 1-Mike Soroka vs. Shaun Anderson

If all goes well, Mike Soroka will be the league-leader in ERA after this game, as he currently is six-plus innings short of qualifying.

In his last start, Soroka dazzled against the Cardinals, throwing seven innings of shutout ball, while only giving up three hits.

That lowered his ERA to 0.98 and improved his record to 4-1.

Soroka faced the Giants last season, allowing four earned runs over four innings and earning the loss.

The Giants will send out rookie Shaun Anderson for his second start of the season.

In his first start last week against the Blue Jays, Anderson went five innings, allowing two earned runs, while scattering two hits and earning the no-decision.

Anderson is the Giants’ fourth-best prospect, according to MLB Pipeline and was 2-1 with a 4.11 ERA in seven starts at Triple-A Sacramento.

On paper, this is one-sided heavily towards the Braves.

Game 2-Julio Teheran vs. TBD

Believe it or not, Julio Teheran has been just as good Soroka and better than Fried over his last three starts.

He is just 1-0, but his ERA is 0.53 and the batting average against is .123.

The hope now is that he can take this success to Oracle Park, where he has struggled mightily, carrying a 5.51 ERA in three starts.

Buster Posey and Brandon Belt have owned Teheran in their careers.

Posey is 6-for-17 with two home runs and four RBI, while Belt is 7-for-15, with two home runs and two RBI.

The Giants have not decided who will be starting this game, but the last time through this rotation spot they threw an opener (Nick Vincent), then the young Tyler Beede took over after that.

Beede recently replaced Derek Holland in the rotation, who was demoted to the bullpen.

Beede went 2.1 innings, allowed an earned run and struck out five batters.
