Game 2 – Chase  Anderson vs Kevin  Gausman

Chase Anderson is expected to return from the IL to make the start on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves.

Before going down with a cut finger, Anderson was having a pretty good season with a 3.20 ERA in 19.2 innings with 22 strikeouts.

He started the 2019 season coming out of the bullpen, but started two games before getting injured.

The righty has yet to go longer than 5 innings in a game this year, so you’d have to imagine coming off the IL they won’t push him. If the Braves can drive his pitch count up early, they can probably get rid of him after four or five innings.

Over the last three seasons, Anderson has made three starts against the Braves and is 1-0 with a 5.87 ERA over 15.1 innings with 9 strikeouts.

The lefties at the top of the Braves lineup, Freeman and Markakis, are a combined 7-for-17 against him.

Kevin Gausman is expected to make the start on Saturday after serving his five-game suspension for throwing at Jose Urena.

Gausman was really good against Arizona in his last start giving up just 1 run on 5 hits and 2 walks over 6 innings with 6 strikeouts.

He could use a couple more starts like as he’s been a mixed bag all year.

In his last start against the Brewers he was brilliant, allowing just 1 run over 8 innings with 8 strikeouts.

Lorenzo Cain (3-for-6) and Mike Moustakas (3-for-7, 1 HR) have had the most success of him.
