Game 2—Max  Fried vs. Hyun-Jin Ryu

Max Fried was much better his last time out. While earning the win, he allowed just one earned run, while striking out seven in seven innings.

That lowered his earned run average on the season to 2.11, while pushing his record to 4-1.

The Dodgers’ numbers against Fried are small, but Max Muncy did hit a home run off Fried in the NLDS last season.

Ryu was outstanding in his last start against the San Francisco Giants but received a no-decision. He went eight innings, scattered four hits, and allowed just one run.

On the season, he is 3-1 with a 2.55 ERA, with a strikeout to walk ratio of 39-2.

The key for Ryu has always been health, but when he is healthy he is one of the best in the National League.

Freddie Freeman has great numbers off Ryu, going 6-for-11 with a double.

Charlie Culberson is 4-for-9 with a triple and Ender Inciarte is 2-for-6.

The Atlanta Braves typically love hitting against left-handed pitchers as they are second in the league this year with a .287 average against lefties.

We’ll see if that trend continues as they take on Ryu Tuesday night in what will be a pivotal game in this series if we drop the first one with Clayton Kershaw lingering for game three.
