Atlanta Braves: 3 Takeaways from Thursday’s lopsided loss
By James Kunkle
Give the Padres Credit
Sometimes as the old saying goes, you just have to tip your hat and move on. Today just wasn’t the Braves day.
It is no doubt a little tough to look at Ian Kinsler going 3-6 with 3 extra base hits when he came into the game batting .151, but he’s a veteran player.

Franmil Reyes seemingly got a hit every time he came to the plate in this series and that continued again Thursday.
Thursday was also the first time in 19 years the Padres scored 5 runs or more in consecutive innings.
The real frustrating part to me is that the Atlanta Braves kept Manny Machado in check for the majority of this series besides a lone solo home run Wednesday night. As a matter of fact, he was the only Padres starter Thursday to not collect 2 or more hits.
So with the loss, the Atlanta Braves travel to Miami to take on the Marlins. On Friday night, we get the long awaited rematch of Acuna vs Jose Urena.
I would also be remised if I didn’t mention that I might feel more comfortable with Charlie Culberson on the mound than Shane Carle at this point.
