Will it be worth it in the end?

Fair or not, Josh Donaldson will be connected to the Atlanta Braves bullpen all year long.

More from Tomahawk Take

If Donaldson doesn’t perform, then he’ll confirm what most fans are saying — that he was a waste of money that should have been used to improve the bullpen.

In my opinion, he’s proven his worth over the past couple of weeks and shown just how impactful he can be in this lineup.

When he’s on fire and confident like he has been the past two weeks, the Atlanta Braves have a chance to be one of the best offensive teams in the league.

And in Donaldson’s defense, the Atlanta Braves had the resources to do more, they just chose not to.

The $23 million given to him should not have stopped them from also spending money on the bullpen.

I’ve said it several times on here, but my only concern with Donaldson coming into the season was his defense, and he’s played at a Gold Glove level over there.

The guy is going to hit, I have no doubts about that.

I still think he and Ronald Acuna Jr. need to be swapped in the lineup, but it is what it is.

Let’s stop quantifying the worth of Donaldson compared to the bullpen, and let’s just enjoy the show. Because when he’s on fire like he is right now, it’s fun to watch.
