Mychal  Givens

This is a name that we have mentioned on here a lot, and it still makes sense today as we know the Orioles are not going to compete in 2019.

And the Orioles gave us two relievers last year, so we have some recent trade history.

Mychal Givens is a hard-throwing right-handed reliever for the Orioles who is under team control two more seasons after 2019.

He is also making just $2.15 million this year, so that’s certainly affordable.

Over five major league seasons, he has a career ERA of 3.16, a WHIP of 1.13, a K/9 of 10.5, and a BB/9 of 3.4.

The past three seasons he has thrown at least 74.2 innings in each season, so he’s been very consistent and reliable, which the Atlanta Braves desperately need.

He’s off to a bit of a slow start this year with a 4.91 ERA in 7.1 innings on 6 hits and 3 walks, but he has 12 strikeouts.

Givens is also a guy who can give you multiple innings as he’s pitched an inning-plus three times already this year.

The righty is 28-years-old and is a former second-round draft pick. He is not going to come in and be a closer for the Atlanta Braves, but he will certainly help bridge the gap.

The Atlanta Braves get a middle relief guy for two-and-a-half years, and the Orioles get a promising, young pitching prospect for the future of their starting rotation.
