Atlanta Braves: What NL East team should we fear the most?

The Nationals

Yes, I still think the Washington Nationals will be the team we have to beat to win the East again this year. They simply have too much pitching to ignore. Not too mention they have an early season MVP candidate in Anthony Rendon.

I am of the belief that the Nationals were better off letting Bryce Harper walk and filling in the holes of the team with the money saved, which is exactly what they did. I know the start hasn’t been superb but they are still only 2 games out despite a bullpen that’s been horrid.

It seems the question with Washington is always health though. Will Ryan Zimmerman play in at least 130 games? Will Adam Eaton finally put together a full season? The same with Stephen Strasburg? Heck, we have already seen Trea Turner and Michael Taylor go down.

But at the end of the day a pitching staff consisting of Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, Patrick Corbin, Anibal Sanchez, and Jeremy Hellickson scares me a lot. Yes, the bullpen is shaky at best and the bench is not the best, but I still believe the starting talent may be the deepest among the other three teams. If Victor Robles, and Juan Soto are as good as advertised, this team will still be in it come late September.

I know many people will probably not agree with me, but at the end of the day, the Atlanta Braves can defeat any of these teams on any given night.

It’s no doubt going to be a battle all the way until the end of September, but it should be fun. Let us know what you think down below.
