Who needs to go

I think a lot of us, myself included, fell in love with Chad Sobotka at the end of the 2018 season. For one, he was the only bullpen option at the time that anyone trusted.

That right there should tell you that more should have been done in the offseason to upgrade our bullpen.

But the kid is lost on the mound right now and he needs to figure it out with Gwinnett, not in the Atlanta Braves bullpen.

Shane Carle has walked seven batters in 4.2 innings this year. I’m sorry, but you’ve got to go.

He’s already been sent down once this year, and he probably shouldn’t have been brought back. At the same time, he’s the only reliever who had a clean inning on Tuesday.

Carle is another one of those frustrating arms who can look so good at times, and then blow up the next day.

I would like for him to get more time at Gwinnett to prove that he has his stuff under control before bringing him back up.

As I tweeted on Tuesday, I think Jonny Venters is done and will get the Peter Moylan treatment.

We haven’t seen anything from Dan Winkler yet this year, but he walked four batters in three innings at Gwinnett, so I certainly don’t trust him right now.
