Sign Kimbrel Right Now

The mystery of Craig Kimbrel this offseason is something that has driven me crazy. It’s not just that the Atlanta Braves haven’t signed him, but that no team has signed him.

And not only that, it seems like there aren’t any teams interested in him.

I don’t get it, we are talking about one of the greatest closers of all-time who has plenty of good years left in him.

It sounds like the two sides are at a stalemate with Kimbrel wanting three years and the Braves not going further than two.

Are you kidding me? … Give the man the third year already.

This is absolutely blowing my mind that the Braves need a closer, Kimbrel seemingly wants to play for the Braves, and we aren’t willing to give him a three-year deal.

At this point, if I’m Kimbrel I take a fat one-year deal with the Phillies and stick it to the Braves. But I’m hoping he doesn’t do that.

Please, please, please go give Kimbrel what he wants and get him on this team. I don’t care about the second round draft pick we’ll lose in the process.

I’ve heard the argument that having Craig Kimbrel would not have made any difference on Thursday, and maybe that argument is correct.

But if you have Kimbrel, that pushes everyone down a notch. And then maybe Shane Carle pitches the sixth, Max Fried the seventh, and either Johnny Venters or Arodys Vizcaino in the eighth if it’s still close.

Bottom line, we need Kimbrel, Kimbrel wants us, go get Kimbrel.
