Can Ronald Acuna Improve in His Sophomore Season?

Ronald Acuna won’t be the only Braves player looking to improve in their sophomore season, but he’ll be the most impactful.

Atlanta had a lot of young players get their first taste of the big leagues last year, and how they develop into the 2019 season will go a long way.

But, all of the attention will be on Acuna.

After being the top prospect in all of baseball going into 2018 and then winning the NL Rookie of the Year, expectations are sky high for the 21-year-old.

Some people are already comparing him to Mike Trout, and are at the very least saying he’s the best young player since Trout.

But we all know how difficult that sophomore season can be.

We’ve see the likes of Jason Heyward, Jeff Francour, and Swanson to a lesser degree come up with a lot of hype, play well, and then quickly decline.

I don’t think that will be the case for Acuna, but it’s definitely something Braves fans will be watching out for in 2019.

The league certainly has plenty of tape on Acuna at this point, so now it will be their chance to try and respond.

How Acuna adjusts to those responses will determine just how great he can be in 2019.
