4th Outfielder

Most likely this will be Adam Duvall‘s spot unless the Braves decide to save a tiny bit of money and cut bait with Duvall. I know he had a disastrous stint after being acquired by the Braves, but I think it would still be wise to see if he could bounce back and replicate more of his Cincinnati days.

Culberson could also play some outfield, but I don’t think he should be the answer as the 4th outfielder. The Braves have also offered a couple of non-roster invitees the chance to come to camp and maybe catch a little lightning in a bottle like they did with Anibal Sanchez last season.

A couple of those players are outfielders, and one of those is Rafael Ortega who has spent time at the Major League level with 3 teams, most recently with Miami last year where he hit .233 and had 5 stolen bases. Not much, but hey no harm no foul.

Another player in the same boat is Ryan LaMarre who was with the White Sox and Twins systems last year. His numbers all around are a little better than Ortega. He hit .279 last year and had a OBP of .322 at the major league level. Again, not much excitement but they will probably see some action for the Braves this upcoming spring training.
