What could be the cost?

In one of his inbox pieces earlier this year, Bowman speculated it would cost one of the Braves high-end pitching prospects (Soroka, Kyle Wright or Ian Anderson, presumably), one of the Braves top position prospects (Riley, Cristian Pache or Drew Waters) plus at least one other top 15 prospect for Realmuto.

However, ESPN’s Keith Law conducts a chat every week or so and in his most recent chat, a reader asked if an offer of Pache, Luiz Gohara, and Kolby Allard would be enough for Realmuto.

Law’s response? “Probably, if Anthopolous has lost his damn mind.”

Pache is a consensus top 50 prospect, Allard is borderline top 100 and Gohara is coming off what most are calling a lost season, though he’s a top 100 guy in a number of lists as well.

And that is too much? Hmm.

That makes no sense considering what Realmuto is and how much he costs.

In my mind, if you want the best catcher in baseball, with two years of control left, it is going to obviously going to cost more than one top 50 prospect, no matter how crazy that sounds to Law.
